SC 65 ALT: Appeared in 1934 or 1935 as new primary routing running from SC 65 (now SC 61) Farells Crossroads northeast to US 78 at the Edisto River. About half of this had been US 78 earlier and the other half was new construction.
In 1940, SC 65 ALT was renumbered as part of SC 121. Today it is S-5-18.
