< SC 913 | Home | SC 915 >
From: Lancaster (Lancaster County)
To: Crocketts Crossroads (Lancaster County)
Total Length: 1.7 miles
ROUTE LOG
SC 9 Bus: 0 - 0
SC 200: 1.2 - 1.2
Creation: SC 914 appeared in 1940, running from SC 9 (now SC 9 Bus) near Lancaster southeast to SC 529 (now S-29-19) Flemings Crossroads. This is the only SC 914.
Adjustments: In 1942, SC 914 was extended east as new primary routing to US 521 Elgin.
In 1954 or 1955, SC 914 east was truncated to its current SC 200 ending, leaving behind S-29-25 west of S-29-158 and S-29-38 from S-29-158 to US 521

Improvements: SC 914 was paved from SC 9 to SC 529 in 1942 and by 1948 was shown to be all paved. Oddly, the 1953 Official Map shows part of SC 914 to be not paved.
The eastern 1/4 mile or so is multilane.
Comment: Forms a southwest bypass of central Lancaster. Shown but not labeled on most official maps in the last 40+ years.
The intersection of SC 914 and Grace Ave has been redone since 2008 where SC 914 is no longer the through movement. This has now created an unmarked turn eastbound.
