Adjustments: Between 1939-50, TN 65 was removed from Fred Bortnick Rd; abandoned routing on the east side centered around Ashburn Rd
In 1953, TN 65 was extended south with US 41 to Springfield, then as new routing south to end at US 31W-41 Nashville.

In July 1953 (AASHO), US 431 was added to the entirety of TN 65.
About 1956, TN 65 was put on its current routing from today's Frisco Ln south through Springfield on Memorial Blvd. The old route is abandoned to the east adjacent to the quarry and N Main St through Springfield.
Around 1966, TN 65 was rerouted to accomodate the I-65/265 (now I-24/65) interchange by looping north to the Fern Ave overpass, then back south down the east frontage road to get back to White's Creek Pike.
Between 1982-85, TN 65 was rerouted to leave White's Creek Pike (some of this is now Baptist World Center Dr) at W. Trinity Ln to head east to US 31W-41.
In 1987, TN 65 was removed from the substantial Old Hwy 432 between Springfield and the Davidson County line.

Previous TN 113's:

TN 65 #1: An original state highway which in 1924 ran from TN 1 (Gay St at Main Ave) Knoxville southeast through Sevierville to TN 9 (at the US 25E-W split) Newport.
In 1927 or 1928, TN 65 was renumbered as TN 35. Around that same time, TN 9 was rerouted such that TN 35 or 65 met TN 9 much further west than before. So TN 65 might have been truncated to and replaced by a relocated TN 9 (now TN 92) first.
Not much of TN 65 is a primary route today. The route used the Gay St bridge; Sevier Ave; Davenport Rd (cutoff by James White Pkwy)/Haywood Ave/Sevierville Pike; a little US 441; Old Sevierville Pike, TN 338 and Old Knoxville Hwy (no longer crosses river)/Kilby St; a bit of US 411-441; Parkway, Park Rd, Eastgate Rd (no longer connects to)/Old Newport Hwy (no longer connects to)/TN 416, another Old Newport Hwy, TN 339; more US 411; Old Hwy 411, Bridge Chapel Rd/Old Sevierville Hwy, Clevenger Cutoff, Carson Springs Rd (cutoff by I-40), Coops Rd (no longer connects to)/Thurwood Dr; US 25W-70
