Creation: Appeared in 1923 as an original state highway running which appears to have run a bit differently from its early route log descriptions. It appears it began at TN 32 (now TN 160) near Newport and ran to TN 34 (now US 11E Bus) Greeneville. Route logs used TN 9 near Newport and TN 34 near Greeneville both both of those descriptins do not seem to describe roads that actually existed.
Adjustments: In 1927 or 1928, TN 35 was extended with TN 32 into Newport, then replaced TN 65 west to Sevierville and ending at TN 33 (now E Blount Ave) at the Gay St Bridge in Knoxville.
