Creation: Appeared in 1927 or 1928 running from US 25E-70 Dandridge to US 11W Rutledge.
Adjustments: If TN 92 ever used Old Jefferson City Hwy north of Dandridge it stopped doing so by 1935.
About 1941, TN 92 was rerouted north out of Jefferson City to accommodate the new Cherokee Lake, leaving behind Russell St across the RR, West Cherokee Dr, a lot of underwater routing, and TVA Dam Rd near the Holston River Bridge. Instead, TN 92 followed US 11E (now Old Andrew Johnson Hwy) southwest to where TN 92 leaves it now.
In 1953 or 1954, TN 92 was extended south to US 411 Chestnut Hill.
In 1970 (bridge date), TN 92 was removed from Milldale Rd in Honeycutt Mill.
I also believe 1970 is when TN 92 was removed from Gay St out of Dandridge to use US 25W-70 then also removed from "Old Hwy 92" just north of the route split.
In 1995 or 1996, TN 92 was rerouted away from downtown Jefferson City by using a little new construction to US 11E southwest to its original Jefferson City then northeast back to where TN 92 north left it. This left behind Georgia Ave, E. College St, Branner Ave and Old Andrew Johnson Hwy.
Also in 1995 or 1996, TN 92 was removed from several old alignments between Dandridge and Jefferson City - Azalea Ln; Fairfax Ln; Spruce Ln; Bent Ln; Scotch Pine Ln; Ebony Ln; Fig Way; Morrisett Ave
