About 1957, US 31 was moved to I-65's eventual footprint, taking TN 7 with it. This is also around the time AL 53 was extended to Ardmore from the Huntsville area. So TN 110 west may have been truncated to AL 53 (110's current endpoint) but it is unclear.
In 1966 or 1967, I-65 was completed and TN 7 may have been rerouted back into Ardmore at this time. County maps back to the early 1980s show TN 7 running east along the state line until AL 53 turns southeast into Alabama. Some Giles County highway maps from 1950-70 would be useful to sort out what actually happened. Note that the route logs 1930-62 always said TN 110 ended at the Alabama State Line.
