WV 33: Appeared in 1922 as new primary highway, running from WV 2 (now CR 21) New Era west to the Ohio River Ferry at Ravenswood.
About 1936, WV 35 was rerouted on its east end to meet US 21 south of Sandyville as new routing, leaving behind CR 34/12. Also about 1936, WV 35 was removed from CR 33/13 at Crow Summit. In 1937, WV 35 was renumbered as WV 56. Today it is CR 2/19, US 33/WV 2, and CR 56.
