Creation: Appeared in 1922 as new primary routing running as it does today. This is the only WV 36.
| Adjustments: In 1938, WVDOH studied requesting replacing all of WV 36 with an unspecified US route number. It is unclear if they formally requested this or not but it obviously did not happen. Improvements: By 1935, WV 36 was paved from US 119 to nearly Rosalana Between 1936-1946, the rest of WV 36 was paved WV 36 has no multilane segments Comment: WV 36 has not been improved much over the years, despite connecting to I-79...
