WV 81 #1: Appeared in 1927 (WVDOT annual report) as new primary routing running from the Virginia line below Sweet Springs to the Virginia line just above Sweet Springs.
In 1941, WV 81 became WV 311.
WV 81 #2: Appears explicitly in early 1960s WVDOT Annual Reports as Camden Ave in South Parkersburg. It is unclear if WV 81 was ever signed before it was renumbered as WV 95. It is aso unclear if this was assigned to the older Camden Ave segment and/or the modern Dooley Ave routing.
