 Creation: Likely the oldest of the 3 WV 2 SPUR routes. Shown explicitly on state official maps back to at least 1976 and implied back to at least 1946. The bridge over the Ohio River was built in 1904 and rehabbed in 1981.

Improvements: Fully paved upon designation; no mulitlane segments.
Comment: WV 2 SPUR is not posted as anything from either side of the bridge, though the Ohio side may have been OH 43 at some point.
WV 2 SPUR's bridge over the Ohio River is limited to a height of 10 feet.
The 1946 Brooke County map does not label the road as anything.
