WV 37 ALT: Implied on Wayne County maps to have been created between 1938-46 connecting WV 37 (now CR 37/41) to US 52 (now WV 152) in Wayne. This had been US 52.
At some point in relative recent times, WV 37 was rerouted in the town of Wayne to its current routing, replacing WV 37 ALT. The old more direct route of WV 37 became CR 37/41 (shown as early as 2004 Wayne County map) which no longer has a bridge connection (closed in 2007, torn down since).
