WV 71 SPUR: Appeared by 1964 (per WVDOT) as the designation for the northern leg of WV 71 from US 19-21-460 (now just US 19) south of Princeton to WV 71 at Glenwood Park.
On 12/23/77 (WVDOT CO), WV 71 SPUR was downgraded to CR 19/39.
