Comment: VA 361 provides a winding access to Red onion Prison. It is by far the most scenic prison route in Virginia.
VA 361 started appearing on Officials in 1998.
DeLorme maps incorrectly have VA 361 extend straight down to SR 633.

VA 361 #1: Appeared in 1923 as a renumbering of VA 6-X running from VA 36 (now SR 723) Millwood north via VA 255, US 340 and SR 616 to Berryville, then after a brief jaunt west on VA 7 Bus Main St, up US 340 to the West Virginia line. Berryville to West Virginia was an explicit duplex with VA 37.
In 1925, VA 361 was renumbered as VA 325 from Millwood to Berryville; VA 376 on Main St in Berryville; VA 37 remained from Berryville to WV.

VA 361 #2: Appeared July 1966 (CTB) as the designation for 0.81 miles of roads within the UVA-Eastern Shore Campus near Chincoteague.
In Dec 1980 (CTB), VA 361 was decommissioned.
VA 361 was located along SR 798 very close to Wallops Station and I believe today it is SRs 830, 831, 832.
