I-126 Bus: Postings for I-126 Business appeared by the late 1970s, perhaps as part of the project to widen the Saluda River bridge in 1978. It ran along Elmwood Ave from Huger St to Main St.
In the late 1980s there were several I-126 Bus postings. Tdoay there is just one, on US 76 Elmwood Ave WB approaching Main St. The most recent version of this sign is in red and blue instead of the green shield.
Per the interstate-guide.com website, they contacted SCDOT who reported that I-126 Bus has never officially existed...
