Creation: SC 160 appeared in 1942 as a renumbering of SC 211 running the way it does now. This is the only SC 160.

Improvements: SC 160 was paved upon inception; multilane from US 21 Byp northwest to SC 460 since at least 2007.
Comment: There is a posted SC 160 TRUCK that follows 100% of SC 460 and predates the SC 460 designation by several years at least. It is unclear why SC 460 didn't just become SC 160 Bypass.
