Creation: SC 211 appeared in 1942 as a renumbering of part of SC 105, running from SC 5 (now SC 97) Hickory Grove southwest to SC 105 just inside Cherokee County. This is the 3rd SC 211.
| Adjustments: In 1951, SC 211 was extended east replacing SC 5 to end at SC 91 (now SC 49) Sharon. In 1956, SC 211 was extended west with SC 105, then replaced SC 98 to end at SC 18 (now SC 150).
Improvements: SC 211 was fully paved upon creation; no multilane segments Comment: SC 211 is a lonely road not serving much traffic. | Previous SC 211's:

SC 211 #1: Appeared about 1925 as a renumbering of SC 21 from Travelers Rest to the North Carolina State Line in the Caesar's Head area.
In 1928, SC 211 was renumbered as SC 284. Today it is the US 276 corridor.
SC 211 #2: Appeared in 1928 as a renumbering of SC 73 from US 21 Fort Mill east to SC 26 (now US 521).
