I-175: In June 2001, the US House of Representatives in a committee related to the appropriations bill for the US DOT, wanted to include money for feasibility/planning of an I-175 that would run from Chattanooga to Lexington KY as a straighter alternative to I-75. See Report 107-108 for a line item. Where I-175 was supposed to run isn't stated but per Kurumi.com, Jeffrey Carlyle contacted the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet who told him where I-175 would have gone.
This funding did not make it in the final bill. Had this actually happened it would likely have loosely followed the US 27 corridor. Would it have been renumbered as I-75? |
