Adjustments: In 1983, TN 140 east was rerouted from Buchanan to continue east to US 79 near Oak Hill. The old route down to Nobles became TN 218. Additionally, TN 140 was extended west to TN 69, then followed TN 69 south to Cottage Grove, then headed south to end at TN 22 outside McKenzie.
