TN 81 Spur: Appeared about 1963 as new construction as a bypass around the south of Kingsport, running from TN 81 (now Old S. Wilcox) across the Holston River to end at US 23 (now TN 36).
Between 1967-69, TN 81 Spur was renumbered as part of TN 93. TN 81 Spur was shown but not labeled on the 1963 Sullivan County map, but is explicitly called 81 Spur in the 1966 Tennessee State Highway Report.
