Improvements: 4 lane freeway at inception except I-85 to SC 146 which was 6-laned.
I-385 was 6-laned north of I-85 in 2005.
I-385 was 6-laned from US 276 Exit 30 south to Exit 26 Harrison Bridge Rd in 2008.
I-385 was 6-laned from SC 146 to US 276 in 2012.
Comment: I-385 did not really get an upgrade on the US 276 freeway until 20+ years later, which was clearly early 60's vintage.
I-385 is the only interstate in SC to have a state highway multiplex, which it does with SC 14.

Previous I-385's: I-385 #1: Early designation for an interstate spur from I-85 to Spartanburg. When it came time to design and build this spur it was redesignated as I-585. See scan at top of this page...
