US 350: Explicitly requested by West Virginia November 23, 1928 as the designation for US 50N from Ellensboro to Ohio at St. Mary's, which had just been assigned 2 days earlier. There was some agitation in West Virginia about 50S being assigned through Parkersburg (losing 50) and that 50N was going to just get a different number.
On November 24, 1928 AASHO replied that Ohio, being the initiator of the US 50 split routing was not going to accept this change and besides the point, US 350, 450, 550 and 650 were all in use already. Thus, US 350 did not replace US 50N. | ||
