The Road: Will begin at I-85/US 29-52-70 south of Lexington (Davidson County) and end at I-74/274, US 52near Rural Hall (Forsyth County)
Towns and Attractions: Davidson Co.: Lexington  
Forsyth Co.: Winston-Salem  
History:
I-285 was approved by AASHTO in September 2005 to run from I-85 south of Lexington to the eventual interchange of I-74, I-274, and US 52.
Per Interstate Guide.com, it is posted as an I-285 corridor.
