Adjustments: About 1935, WV 29 was truncated on both ends to run only from WV 45 (now CR 45/7 Gaston Rd) Forks of Capon to WV 9 below Paw Paw. The route to Berkeley Springs went back to being WV 9. The road southwest to Augusta became part of WV 45. In 1960 (bridge date), WV 29 was extended south replacing WV 45 to the new alignment of WV 45 (now WV 127). About 1975, WV 29 was extended southwest replacing more WV 45 to US 50, then followed US 50 west to Augusta, then south replacing Hampshire CR 7; Hardy CR 1; Hampshire CR 11; Hardy CR 3 to end at WV 55-259 (now CR 55/20) near Baker. In 1993 or 1994, WV 29 was rerouted between Rio and Pleasant Dale over CR 11 to US 50 to Hanging Rock. The old route between Rio and US 50 Augusta became Hardy CR 53 and Hampshire CR 7.
In October 2006, WV 29 south was extended over WV 55 and WV 259 to their new routing on Corridor H in Baker.
